When I listen to the Republicans on Fox News criticize the fiscal condition of the country...the enormous debt and then hear them drop right out to wanting to continue the Bush tax cuts instead of allowing them to expire...the way the original law states I almost vomit. George, come on man.... You don't think the over-the-top spending had anything to do with it? I don't understand people who think like this. There must be something in the water.....

Its not about what you have, it is about what you don't spend. Without spending there is no debt.

How is it thievery for people to remain in possession of their own money, exactly? Usually it is when money/property is taken from the rightful owner a theft has occured.

Yes, George Bush was an idiot. The stimulus obviously didn't work either, and that blame rests with the current administration.

WE ARE SPENDING 2 BILLION DOLLARS A MONTH IN AFGHANISTAN.

Imagine what that kind of money being spent here in the states on special work projects would do.

War people, what is it good for? Destroying the economy apparently.

You Nailed It!!!

Friggin' wars and tax cuts for the wealthy. I absolutely do not understand why what used to be middle class America would ever vote for a Republican. Back when I used to be a Repblican our president, Dwight David Eisenhower warned them against the industrial military complex. Iraq was an unnecessary war of choice and that lying draft dodger George W. Bush said god told him to invade. The debt was already there when Barack Obama took office. The rich folks got well while Reagan and the Bushes were completely castrating this great republic of ours.

I hate war just like the majority. Who ran for pres. and was going to bring our troops back. He had my (college attending at the time) daughter convinced, she voted for him now it's "You were right Mom"

Our elected officials believe War is profitable and the pres. found out the deep dark secrets hidden in the WH and likes the power trip.

The point to the thread was to point out the hypocrsiy of the Republicans claiming to advocate for fiscal responsibility and conservatism, while fighting to keep the tax cuts. By not voting to eliminate the cuts, they are displaying insincerity on the issues. Understand now?

"the way the original law states I almost vomit. The tax cuts of Bush, his daddy and Ronald Reagan are why the debt is there in the first place:"

yep, I almost vomit also when I read one of your rantings.

P.S. Why didn't mention the kennedy tax cuts. Aren't bias are you?

Let's get creative here and think outside the box. What if they keep tax cuts AND cut spending? I know; it has never been tried.

Taxes directly impact revenue. Can you show what the revenue was for that time frame, to see the real impact of the tax cuts? Increasing revenue can still result in increased debt, if spending is out of control.
