Gee, I wonder what the Republican worshiping fundies are going to think about this?

Quote:
Forty different Catholic, evangelical, mainline Protestant, Jewish and Muslim leaders and scholars came together to release a statement condemning the hate language of Fox News, Sarah Palin, and Newt Gingrich as it relates to the so called Ground Zero mosque, “Fear-mongering and hateful rhetoric only undermine treasured values at the heart of diverse faith traditions and our nation’s highest ideals.”
The statement released by Faith In The Public Life condemned the religious bigotry of Gingrich, Palin, and Fox News, “As Catholic, evangelical, mainline Protestant, Jewish and Muslim leaders and scholars committed to religious freedom and inter-religious cooperation, we are deeply troubled by the xenophobia and religious bigotry that has characterized some of the opposition to a proposed Islamic center and mosque near where the World Trade Center towers once stood.”

Surely you feel a little sympathy for 40 "religious" leaders who don't know "hate speech" when they hear it!

But that was two months ago. More recently — in fact on May 26, one day after his Daily News column – Abdul Rauf appeared on the popular Islamic website Hadiyul-Islam with even more disturbing opinions. That’s the same website where, ironically enough, a fatwa was simultaneously being issued forbidding a Muslim to sell land to a Christian, because the Christian wanted to build a church on it.

They know hate speech when they hear it but I'm not sure you understand where it's coming from.

Oh, I am not sure any liberal has any comprehension of the term "hate speech". It is a simple, crude bludgeon to use, similar to the cheapened term "racism".

Did you ever stop to think that those of faith come from all different political parties? So what if a bunch of liberal loonies denounce anything? They're still liberals at the end of the day and will act accordingly.

I had to laugh at your link from PoliticusUsa...

I really hate to offend your RW sensibilities, but I doubt that Faux News is going to report accurately on a story that's critical of themselves.

Here's a site dedicated to veterans with the story..or do you have something against them too?

LOL, you don't get it. They are a bunch of left wing loonies who are using their religious titles to promote their liberal views. Can't say I care one iota what these moonbats think or say, AND I don't care what religion they proclaim to profess. It's a liberal left-wing group.

Why do you care? Doesn't your ideology demand that you excoriate these fools who believe in fairy tales and should not be involved in Politics. Unless you are being hypocritical. NAW cant be that.
