If things don't improve in the next 2 years he'll need a boost to win reelection. I understand his thinking in 08, get a bland but capable backup as to not be overshadowed. He still won by a landslide w/ a VP that got him zero votes. But times have changed and he could use a little Clinton boost.
depending on where the economy is in 2012 we may see a change-up in VP selection but i don't think it would be hillary. if things get worse i'd look for someone that is politically neutral but economically successful from the private sector. if things improve, even slowly as anticipated, than i doubt there will be a switch.
Biden is going to step aside for the political assurance that his son Bo will be the next Senator from Delaware.
Hillary will be the natural pick for VP, because most women are going to vote for her regardless of her policies, if not just to get a woman as VP of the United States.
And John Kerry is going to get to be the new SOS, which is what he wanted in the first place.
Such is the political camp. Mark my words, if you can remember them for two years. I will be prophetic, I promise.
The realquestion is does Hillary want to end her career as a lossing VP pick ;I doubt it really.Obama will pick someone more tot eh left since he is even in rouble with them.
I am still holding to my prediction that Hillary will see that Obama and the {D} party are in trouble and she will resign and start ramping up for 2012. It seemed to me that the Clinton's had to kiss Obama's A$$ for her to get the Sec of State job and she will return the favor by kicking him in the Jimmy when he is down.

Never going to happen, it'd split the party and assure a Republican victory

I dunno. I think Obama has lost the independents and moderates.
If Hillary were up for President in 2008 I would have voted for her.
Sadly the Dems wanted Obama so they lost my vote.
If they think Hillary could win them back then I think they may just go for it. The Dems are not looking good these days and all they can campaign on is "look what Bush did" and have nothing to boast about during their complete Dem reign over the past two years.
Yes. And I've been saying it for a while here on CD. It makes sense to do so. Biden brings nothing to the table. Hillary brings excitement, and maybe just enough of the independent vote to re-elect Obama. It will all depend on the Republican nominees.
