Gay? Who cares? I find it more disturbing that he's open about being a Republican.

What does this have to do with your comment about "who cares" if he's gay.
The Rs made it an issue.

Hell no, they kept their damned mouths shut, while giving their usual hypocritcal lip service to the "useful idiots" like Dobson, et al, they knew full well the topic is largely in the hands of the Judiciary too, and a hot potato of major proportion.
So the President doesn't need to worry about constituional rights? LOLs.

And you are wrong about the abortion issue and therefore the gay marraige issue. Under the Constitution Congress controls the Courts. The Congress can pass a law and write in there that the COurts are not allowed to hear a case concerning it.

Since Roe v Wade the Congress has voted 3 times on whether to make abortion illegal. (Once under Reagan, twice under Bush). It's always been voted on when the republicans had control of congress and the presidency. And it failed all 3 times. All this talk about republicans wanting to overthrow Roe v. Wade is nonsense. They have voted against it 3 times.

Obama and the democrats could make gay marraige the law of the land today. If they really wanted to. But they keep their mouths shut while while giving their usual hypocritcal lip service to the "useful idiots" like democratic voters, et al.

Besides, he did speak out against Prop. 8 as well as the proposed federal amendment to ban same-sex marriage. Most Republicans supported those things.
Yes he does. He is the leader of the party. Like it or not, he speaks for democrats.

He can get congress to pass health "care" legislation. Surely he can pass something as important as gay marraige.

But the courts are here to stop the tyranny of the majority, especially when it comes to disenfranchising people from "equal treatment under the law."
Millions of democrats vote agianst gay marraige every time they get the chance. And it's all because of the demonizing of the right-wing Christians. I thought the lefties were of superior intelligence? That's what they tell us anyway. Just as I suspected. Democrats aint too bright. They can be brainwashed by a couple tv commercials.

Hey, remember that preacher form Kansas that goes to military funerals and speaks out against gays? He's a pretty ative member in the democratic party. Even ran for Governor of Kansas once.

And here we go again. Comparing the "oppression" of gays to the civil rights movement. That is insulting to people that fought for civil rights and to black people. It's shameful that the left tries to compare those 2 things.

Ain't the irony and hypocrisy of the GOP just flat fricking stunning. Running all those "pro traditional marriage" red herrings while they robbed the US Treasury and wage illegal wars for oil.

The GOP is sooooo over....
Now you left me confused: Is your thread about who's gay now, gay marriage, blaming Obama's mess on Bush, or some imagined illegal war for oil?

Or did you just throw everything up to see what comes back?

Surely you must realize that the democrats are masters at identity politics? All one needs to do is listen to the speeches, pitting rich against poor, black against white, young against old, haves against have nots.
These people love to stir up controversy where none exists.
