On August 28, 1963, the monument grounds were the site of one of the greatest political rallies in American history, the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom which proved to be a high point of the American Civil Rights Movement. Numerous speeches have been given in front of the building, including Martin Luther King's greatest, "I Have a Dream." It is estimated that approximately 250,000 people came to witness this speech and that the crowd stretched back to the entrance of the present World War II Memorial. A marked tile on the memorial steps shows where Dr. King stood.

As it states... "Numerous speeches have been given in front of the building".
Although, I do not recall any that hijacked Martin Luther King's American Civil Rights Movement as Beck has pathetically attempted to.

Seems that Beck is the copycat...and a bad one at that!

Pardon my free-wingmanship, but I do not believe that wing flapping is an appropriate means for choosing public servants.

The last time I read the Declaration of Independence, it stated that governments are instituted to do two jobs:
1. Secure rights, and
2. Govern those who consent.

Does the "left" or "right" support job #1?
Ditto for job #2?

From the evidence, based on the last three generations, the republic has devolved into a democracy, using bribery, opinion polls, and popularity contests to run the government.

Compulsory labor for the benefit of another is slavery.

Slavery is never an acceptable solution to the ills of mankind.

"No one should suffer because he lacks {fill in the blank}", must be prefaced with "No one should be compelled to labor for another, so that ..."

Using government to coerce donors to surrender their labor and property for the benefit of recipients is nothing less than institutionalized piracy.

Voting for candidates who promise to distribute more booty, is institutionalized bribery. Re-electing officials based on their ability to bribe their constituents is not wise. An electorate composed of a majority of bribe takers, parasites, and plunderers will not be opposed by a minority of victimized producers. All entitlements are bribes. The recipient cannot bite the hand that feeds it. And as long as the recipient can vote himself other people's money, by "democratic" means, scoundrels will rise to the occasion... flapping their "wings" as fast as they can.

Now thats so wrong , its sick ! Ed has never said any such thing.... Did you know he was once a Republican?... Ed has nothing but positive thoughts when it comes to the good of the American people.... Its the crazy, nut jobs he calls out, they make great fodder , and , yes he is tiring to get ratings, so are all that spend their time informing, entertaining , and encouraging the populous.

Ed is passionate about his politics, more Dem's. should be so....maybe we could get a lot more done if they were. All the party of NO wants to do is destroy the Country, nothing positive about the way they act, and try to stop everything thats good for the people..... he should be mad as hell , I know I am, we all have had enough of the hate speech, double talk, lies , and Big business corruption the Right wingers seem to encourage and endorse.

Listen to a Limbaugh show on your next lunch hour and you'll hear all the hate and vitriol you can handle.
Then watch an Ed Shultz at 6pm on MSNBC and you tell me who is working harder to support the American middle class.
Speaking of hate and vitriol? you just dropped your cards =
radical/commie/socialist

Bottom line: Ole Ed does not have anywhere NEAR the financial resources to pull off his own rally.

Nor the support, nor the intelligence.
