It depends on which books you read. You can make anything be anything you want if you choose to. Just look at the Progressives version (rewritten and called interpretation) of recent US history as a prime example.

(this is another absurd poll BTW)

You can pick most books on archeology or higher criticism written by conservative believers and come to that same conclusion.

Okay, let's get back to the hypocrisy on the Right. I'm not criticizing Bristol, since she is only a victim and is making the best of it. However, what about all those conservatives who preach against pre-marital sex and claim that abstinence works who looked the other way when one of their own had an unwed teenager?

For so long we've heard the right-wing talk about bad parenting and how there are so many teenagers from poor neighborhoods who get pregnant and become a burden on society. Then we learn a conservative candidate's daughter is unmarried and pregnant, and the Right spins it into a pro-life celebration. "Isn't it just wonderful?" Bristol even became a spokesperson for unwed teenagers. So the Right wasn't uncomfortable with a teenager making lots of money telling other teenagers how she got knocked up, but they don't want to feed babies from low income homes?

Hmm...maybe that's why parents pulled their kids out of school when Obama made his back-to-school speech. It's not racism - they're just afraid if they stay in school and study hard, their daughters won't turn out to be popular and go on Dancing With The Stars.
