Thousands of Christian conservatives spent 12 hours Saturday praying and fasting in front of the state Capitol at a gathering organizers described as spiritual repentance "when there is no hope for a nation."

The daylong religious event titled, "The Call to Conscience," was led by Lou Engle as well as other pastors and speakers to protest gay marriage, pornography and abortion.
Thousands rally against gay marriage, abortion (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2010/09/04/state/n160215D00.DTL&tsp=1 - broken link)

The organizer of this rally is a top Republican religious leader who supports Uganda's proposed "death to homosexuals" law.

Awesome.

I liked that quote - "when there is no hope for a nation". How true.

Some people sure do love a protest. I'm sure they felt like they did something important, so that's something I guess.

Hopefully more and more Christians will step up to protest the homosexual agenda. Everyone needs to keep their sex life and their perversions behind closed doors.

Keep your religion behind closed doors. How many times has history and sociology proved biblical scripture wrong or mythical? A lot.

as to cinema porno--- is a cheap substitute for the loveless lives so many lead.
abortion--- abortion at an early age is a woman's right over her body

Slow news day?

"His trip comes amid a heated debate throughout the country over a bill that would ban advocacy of gay rights and suggests the death penalty for homosexuals who have AIDS and engage in sexual relations."

Sure is a whole lot different than what you said isn't it?

Obviously they wish to use the death penalty as a deterrent to willingly and knowingly infecting others with HIV. It is certainly sever by our standards, but perhaps necessary in a third world nation in which the rate of HIV infection is out of control and other methods of control have failed.

Simple question, isn't deliberately infecting another person with HIV essentially attempted murder or even murder if they eventually die as a result?

It's to be expected that you want to jeer the Christian, but aren't countless innocent domestic partners and children put at risk because HIV carriers deliberately spread HIV?

Gay pride parades which are annual (one time out of the year) isn't illegal now is it? If the city permits it then there isn't a problem. If you don't like people wearing skimpy outfits then don't attend.

In Africa the majority of people with AIDS are heterosexual. Please get your facts straight.
