Attorney Burt Odelson, a noted elction-law expert, is predicting Rahm Emanuel will be ineligible for mayor because he is not a legal resident of Chicago.

Odelson told Roe and Roeper on WLS Radio that when Emanuel leased out his Chicago home he could no longer claim he is a resident.

“He rented his house out in Sept 09 and has not been back since and has no residency in Chicago,” Odelson said.

Odelson says he has been involved in several residency cases in Illinois that “the law is clear.”

uggabugga, certainly Rahm would know elegibility requirements wouldn't he? I hope this opinion is correct and that he is not elegible. That would indeed be "social justice".

He is trusting in the Chicago Machine to make it "right".

yeah, you'd think he'd have looked into that pretty closely, yet...

Republican strategist Dan Proft said Emanuel's situation "really is a Pandora's box and the fact it is getting scrutiny now I think limits Rahm's options."

Proft noted that to be chosen at the ballot box, candidates for mayor must maintain a city residence for one year.

The issue, if unresolved, stands to haunt Emanuel for months if his residency status is appealed by a challenger.

The Chicago Election Board is already kissing his ass and eluding they will break their own rules!

But you must live in the house!!!! Rahm lives in D.C. and rents out his Chicago house.

"If you are a registered voter and continue to vote from your residence, you establish what we consider the intent to be a resident of the city of Chicago," Chicago Election Board Chairman Langdon Neal said.

Looks like Blagovich's quickly exiting defense team will have a new client shortly.

Chicago politics: always corrupt, never boring.

Wow, you obviously don't know too much about Chicago. Jesus Christ could run as a Republican candidate for mayor in Chicago and he'd lose.
