Insurers Pin Rate Hikes on Health Law - WSJ.com

"Health insurers say they plan to raise premiums for some Americans as a direct result of the health overhaul in coming weeks, complicating Democrats' efforts to trumpet their signature achievement before the midterm elections."

and

"The rate increases largely apply to policies for individuals and small businesses and don't include people covered by a big employer or Medicare."

What was that about Obama's policies to help small business, the back-bone of the American economy? Please someone remind me.

From the article ......

"The rate increases largely apply to policies for individuals and small businesses and don't include people covered by a big employer or Medicare."

In other words, lets stick it to people who don't have the economic power to fight back. Gotta love those insurance companies.

Well now who did they think was going to pay to cover all these people now entitled to insurance ?
Who did they think would pay to remove caps on coverage ?

The insurers kept quiet during the big healthcare campaign because they knew they weren't going to pay..just pass on the costs.

And the Dems aren't even bothering to address this.

That was the Obama administration who did that in those closed-door, back room deals; or, did you forget?

Can you provide a little "filler". Just what provisions in the Health Care Reform are making premiums go up?

Well only the insurance companies can answer that. They just attribute it to the healthcare bill not giving any details.

Exactly and I bet this won't hurt their profits one bit.

Gee, ya think that a huge pool of newly insured people with no pre-existing condition restrictions just might drive up costs (while decreasing service availability)? Do you think tens of thousands added to the Medicaid roles, per the new law, in every state might just increase costs?

Common sense is filler? Really?

Of course, because this administration is sooooooo transparent, only they know what deals they struck up with the insurance companies in those back-room and locked-door meetings so that rates are only hiked on the independently insured and small businesses. One truth is certain, they are not raising premiums on those large corporations or unions are they? Why do YOU think that is Katiana? Could it be another of Obama's paybacks for support? More business as usual?
