Pubs, your negative, senseless narrative is not recognizing the reality. This president was given the worst mess in history by your leader and your party. President Obama is resolving these collosal problems. Improvement may be slow in coming, but improvement it is. He's some late news about his successful efforts to revive an economy that was neglected by Bush.

First, I would hardly say that Bush neglected the economy. In fact, he and some other Republicans attempted to pass through restrictions on fannie and freddie long before the housing bubble. Ron Paul recognized the housing bubble back in 2003. The democrats had absolutely no problems with supporting the expansion of both of those institutions in the name of "helping the poor fulfill the American dream". Which did nothing but drive up home prices and make homes more difficult for the average American to own.

Don't get me wrong, the two wars we were involved in were a rather large waste of money and men, but I don't necessarily think they had any sort of immediate detrimental effect on the economy. It mostly just added to the deficit, which will be paid years down the road. In fact, the economy was doing pretty darn good as it rebounded quickly after 9/11 until 2007. With the DOW over 14,000 at one point.

The truth is, either Bush could have pushed harder for financial reform back in 2003 to prevent the housing bubble. Which the democrats would have wholly opposed, and would have used as a wedge in the 2004 elections to say that Bush doesn't care about the poor. So he would most likely have lost reelection in 2004, the democrats would have taken office and the housing bubble still would have popped, but in that case it would have been blamed on John Kerry and the Republicans would have then won in 2008. Or Bush could have done what he did, allowed the housing bubble to grow, eventually it popped and he is blamed. But under the circumstances, its hard for me to really blame him for it.

As for the current economy. It has to start growing again eventually, it is inevitable. The question isn't whether or not it starts growing, it is a question of what effects the democrat policies actually have had.

It is difficult for me to believe that any policy passed by Obama right now would be as effective at stimulating private-sector employment, as deregulation, and lowering taxes. And before you speak of Clinton and his taxes in the late 90's. The tech boom was a special time, and Clinton had very little to do with it. There will not be a green energy boom. If there is, it won't be in this country. I see very little future for America. We will be fine for a while longer, as American corporations and other globalists continue to funnel money into this country through their worldwide investments from accumulated capital. But as this country devolves into nothing but stockholders in international corporations and financial services. The gap between rich and poor will continue to widen. And as the middle-class is destroyed, so to will this country.

It is basically impossible to "bring back the jobs", outside of isolationism and protectionism. Why is America so special? What does America actually do that is better than anyone else? Do you people think there is something special in the water here that makes Americans some kind of magical people? We are really just lucky to have had so many resources, to have been an offshoot of the British empire, and for most of the rest of the world to have destroyed each other in war after war. Or we would really be a nobody. Maybe on the same level as a Brazil.

Worst mess in history...caused by the democrats, who have controlled congress since 2007.

Yeah! We've only lost 3 million jobs since obama enacted HIS stimulus (he owns it). Worked like a charm, didn't it?

About as well as a LOT of people expected.

Where are the jobs?

$800 BILLION bought us what? Handouts to Obama's friends? They certainly aren't suffering.

Facts are a stubborn thing.

Okay - the economy is great. So let's end the talk of more unemployment handouts and stimulus, etc.

It's time for a tax cut for the working Americans. A good economy can justify a tax cut.

Why was the $800B needed? Bush jr had $300B in the bank on his first day in office and when he left we were how many trillions in debt? Something had to be done to stop the 800,000 per month that were getting laid off. And don't blame the Dem's cause the had control of Congress. Obama is getting most of the blame, as he should, he's top dog.

Ya, the facts are stubborn.
