Every now and again you hear some news story talking about gas prices, then they make it sound better by comparing it to the prices in Europe. How can you compare the two? First off, the leaders in Europe don't seem to want their citizens to drive. Second, America is massively spread out, so what is the attraction on trying to compare the two?

On another message board, a guy in the UK said he pays (the equivalent of) $91 PER MONTH road tax. And that is for a 4 cyl vehicle. And that is on TOP of their insane fuel prices. They want their citizens to walk or public transit or sit at home and die.
