Shades of the Pentagon Papers...there's something called "prior restraint" in regards to freedom of the press; it's unconstitutional, and the government is trying precisely that.

Nice to know that the government will burn books to keep the addresses to intelligence agency locations that you can find in the yellow pages secret. But Allah forbid Hussien Obama will let an American burn the Qur'an as protected in the constitution.

Oh by the way there are unedited versions floating around. Nice job Obama way to protect the country.

You Tea Partiers and RINO's better get together in the next few weeks unless you want to see this country continue to get flushed down the drain.

I was looking forward to the opportunity of reading that book. Looks like the government doesn't want info. from Operation Able Danger to embarrass them.

Everything that is in the original book that has been redacted is a matter of public record and can be found with a lot of digging. Most of the information is recorded testimony Col Shaffer gave before congress.
There are unedited books floating around and being sold on eBay. I mean what a bunch of frigging morons running our country. Lets burn ten thousand books but leave about fifty or more floating around.

I'm for protecting intelligence but if you are going to do it, do it right the first time instead of running around like the three stooges.

Not even close.

Author Anthony A. Shaffer as a former Defense Intelligence Agency officer like all holders of top secret security clearances is required to have any manuscript, memoir or whatever reviewed by the intelligence agencies. Shaffer acting in good faith had his book reviewed and cleared by his Army Reserve unit, unfortunately, the Army Reserve did not pass the review process on to the other relevant agencies for review. It wasn't until sometime later that the sensitivity of some parts became apparent by other intelligence agencies. So to compensate both the author and the publisher for having to redact certain portions, they bought the copies that contained the sensitive information they bought them, and then destroyed them.

The Pentagon asked for prior review so this guy knew what he was doing.
He refused, the government BOUGHT the books and disposed of them. There is a second printing in the works, is there not?
