The country is slowly recovering from its kool-aid poisoning and will begin to set things right in a few weeks. I've always thought that Obama would not survive his term as president. I still think that. He will be neutered in the upcoming election. Then, he will be abandoned by all but the blacks and a few remaining others.
The chosen one could use a few hand signals like holding his hand over his heart when the occasion is right. I think he could drop the salute to the Marines though. He would never have made much of a Marine. Maybe he could be Chief pot scrubber??

Yet, the right uses the same tactics. Bush downplayed or attempted to discredit whatever government-funded scientific study that he and his minions didn't agree with. The previous administration put dissent in the same category as terrorism and discouraged any kind of whistleblowing. His destroy the messenger and drink my Kool-Aid administration pretty much mastered that Alinsky ploy you reference.
What I think is a bigger crime is that some still believe this Dem/Rep right/left red/blue divide. Swinging the pendulum in one direction doesn't restore balance, it simply means things will go to an opposite extreme. Right, left, both are just as bad. We need to restore and embrace balance, not demonize ourselves into oblivion.
What I see is a hatred for Obama that still baffles me. Under Bush, we had actual facts, written documents and the like, to back up our opposition to his ideology. Under Obama, where's the smoking gun? Where's the proof of socialist anti-Americanism? Where's the proof that he's destroying anything? The right accused the left of being conspiratorial when Bush was in office but the left proved that things weren't what they seemed. So far, the right has only proven itself to be looney tunes since Obama took over.
I will offer that criminal organizations learn from their mistakes (watch any Hollywood crime movie). If the Obama administration is simply better at concealing its crimes and intentions, then it learned it from whatever errors were made in the previous eight years and earlier.
