Rather than get into the nitty-gritty politicking, to answer the OP's question, if the Eiffel Tower was destroyed (regardless of the perpetrator), my reaction would be that of shock, just like 9/11.

DO you think it would be more like shock or anger? Since these things are starting to happen a lot more?

Personally, I think it's ugly. However, the destruction of the tower would mean the death of hundreds of people, thousands depending on which way the tower would fall. The tower has become a symbol of Paris. There are culturally more valuable targets they could go after but none are a true symbol of Paris like the tower.

What's strange is that in the movie Superman II which was released approximately 20 years ago, a group of terrorists try to blow up the Eiffel Tower. Superman was able to get rid of the bomb, but that led to a whole new set of problems for him, and earth.

Exactly. They want to hit something that is a symbol of France.

I can only sit here every day and hope they aren't successful with ANY of their plots to attack ANY country.

The Tower falling would cause many deaths. I thought it was beautiful but I know some of my friends think it is ugly. But even despite that, no one wants to see it blown up. Just horrible.

I would be beyond angry if it was blown up.

Angry enough to do something? Something violent?

I would be saddened by the loss of lives and upset that a fine example of architecture was destroyed.

I don't shed many tears these days, however, if the tower was destroyed, I would. Some wonderful memories there.

Hmm, you'd shed tears over the loss of a big piece of metal. What about the lives lost in such an attack? A building can be rebuilt.
