Ahem, you do know that the problem is the result of the government.
It began long before, when states outlawed the right to health care.
When only government licensed physicians can treat, health care became a government controlled privilege. When "free men" have to BUY permission slips to buy medicine from another government licensed person, you have no rights.
And the costs can only go up and up.
Coincidentally, the number of "AMA approved" medical schools dropped not by half, but to a third of that number.
Scarcity of physicians is a direct result of the government meddling in free enterprise. High cost of medical education is the direct result of government meddling. The high cost to buy and sell health care is the direct result of government meddling.
And now you think that government is the solution to the problem it created?
Oh, my, no.
In 1906, there were 163 medical schools.
Now? 53 MD/MBA programs nationwide (approx.)
THAT is what you get with PROGRESSIVE administration!
Scarcity, rationing, and a heaping dose of 'oh crap!'
On the other hand, don't you think it would have been far better if government helped start 200 new medical school programs nationwide?
If you're going to vastly increase the number of people accessing health care, you have to vastly increase the number of providers.
Common sense, right?
But not once, did the proponents of REFORM ever suggest such a common sense idea.
