Whites in this country have been given the greatest of considerations for centuries simply because of the color of their skin. This is the unearned privilege. They don't face discrimination and never have. Frankly, conservative whites are the central problem. Conservatives discriminate against others then cry "reverse discrimination" when others respond negatively to the discrimination by conservatives.
Never???? You mean when a black gang targets a white for robbery it wasn't because they were white?
Never? You mean when a white is passed up for promotion because the company wants their AA record to look good and they promote a less qualified minority instead?
Never Points on civil service exames for minorities only?

You weren't turned down for a job because you were white, though. You were turned down because you didn't speak Spanish, which, last time I read, came from Spain, which is in Europe, where white people live.

True. The reason whites feel so oppressed in Hawaii is that they are not used to being the minority. For American minorities such as myself, being there is just like being in other parts of America, though with fewer whites and better weather.
Affirmative action was implemented to make white employers LOOK at black applicants. I'm sorry that you were living under a rock during your American History class but blacks were almost entirely unable to find jobs that weren't service jobs or manual labor only 40 years ago and even had trouble doing that. It had absolutely nothing to do with their qualifications and had everything to do with their skin color. If AA wasn't implemented then blacks wouldn't have jobs period no matter what their qualifications were unless they employed themselves.

I know exactly what it takes to get into Harvard, which is the point i'm making. The guy said that if he wasn't white, he could've gotten into a better school....which made me wonder how all them white folks got into Harvard if white folks can't get into "better schools."

Only 27% of people in Hawaii are white.
