Kracker and honky do offend me. White trash doesn't so much because it's only labeling a type of white person, not all white people. "Racist" doesn't bother me at all, I have been called that plenty of times.

I was actually having this EXACT conversation with a friend who said looters (in New Orleans) were primary 'poor white trash, blacks, and hispanics'
He's white...Im black -- i was slightly offended because he didnt (to your point) segment blacks and hispanics out
It makes me feel threatened to be called things like that. Exactly the way the N-word made blacks feel threatened. Feeling threatened makes me want to distance myself from people who make me feel that way. So, then, I am called a racist by my own PC police. You can't win.
I spent 7 months of my life in Sub-Saharan Africa. Traveling by bus or boat or on top of a truck, sleeping in hotels without electricity, eating in street stalls. Often, I would be the first White person people had seen in months, or maybe ever. I felt less threatened there than I do in the USA.
Racist as a brand is offensive to white people these days because it can hurt their economic well being in our overly PC society where certain brandings can get you ostracized like the plague. For some it fits...I do agree that i can be used too swiftly sometimes.
I'm just...not offended by them. Couldn't really explain it to you. When I hear one of them, I just don't think it applies to me and I don't give it a second thought.
None of them offend me at all because I don't think they apply to me.
