While he loses $400 Million for NJ, he does fine raising money for his Republican cronies in other states like California, New Mexico, Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, and who knows where is next and when his tour will end.

Quote:
Once in the Des Moines area, the governor made handful of stops in shotgun fashion, lending his support to Branstad, who faces Democratic incumbent Chet Culver. Branstad tonight said Christie had drawn backers to "the most successful fundraising event I’ve ever had in all my races for governor."

The New Jersey governor returned to the national political circuit even as his administration was dealing with problems back in Trenton. Christie is battling with the Democrats who control the state Legislature over pension reform, highway-construction financing, continuing questions about the loss of $400 million in federal school aid, and the future of a proposed commuter-train tunnel into Manhattan.
If only he could raise money for NJ the way he raises money for politics or for feeding his fat face.

So, Christie is using his popularity to campaign for candidates in other states. I failt to see how this is a major issue. Consider this political networking. You may not like how the system works, but having a nationally influential governor is a very positive thing for NJ. When's the last time any NJ governor was nationally known for anything but a scandal? Corzine had to buy his way onto a stage with Biden and the Obama machine didn't distanced themselves from him and never lent their full support. McGreevey was best known for his sex scandal. Whitman had a minor national spotlight, that fizzled real quick.

A couple campaign stops and some stumping for candidates now may help NJ in the future when there is something we need/want.

Shhhhh, let the lemmings stew over this one. Remember, anyone who aligns themselves with a political party needs mental help.

Default CC primes the pump for a NJ cash windfall

"........feeding his fat face."

United we stand divided we fall.

Imagine a herd of Republican governors now being able to cascade their influence within and among states to influence national policies. It would make the economic recovery of individual states easier and at this particular time get big government out of the way.

As the Dems have been hijacked to become the D Party replete with radicals, comunists and socialists, we need to rely temporarily on the Republican party until the mainstream Dems can reclaim their prominence.

CC has developed a positive national reputation not because that's what he wanted. He has gained prominence because of the action he has taken. Apparently the unbiased out of state onlookers see something very positive happening in NJ with the advent of CC election. These are the very same out of staters ya'll seem to desperately want respect from. So now you are getting the respect.

Thanks CC!

Intolerance of others based on physical differences would make such a claimant an intolerable; ist, phobe or bigot depending on the particular proclaimation. Such utterings would get that person on the wrong side of our politically and socially correct society and institutions. Perhaps resulting in their dismissal but surely resulting in a lack of respect for anything they might have to say. The seeds of intolerance are indistinguishable as to the variety of weed they produce.

Didn't Corzine bring Obama and all of the Democrat cronies to New Jersey during the campaign last year? A popular governor making a couple campaign speeches for other candidates at election time is pretty tame.

But I would expect high brow topics like politics to be lost on someone whose prime commentary on such topics are fat jokes.

Politicians do fund raising for each other. Is this really a big deal? It's not like this was money he diverted away from NJ to other people.

The political capital this buys NJ may well dwarf the cost of the trip. Or maybe not, but this is something that would only really bother residents who dont like Christie in the first place.
