President obama said something the other day that stunned me. This is a real accomplishment, given my already dim view of the man.

In reference to martin feldstein's proposal that all tax rates be maintained at their current lower levels, the president said, (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/business/7231336.html - broken link)

If we were going to spend $700 billion, it seems it would be wiser having that $700 billion going to folks who would spend that money right away.

I thought i understood this tax debate - whether to leave tax rates as they are or to raise them. But when i heard the president's words something was off, specifically his first use of the word "spend." the president basically said that not to increase taxes on small businesses and individuals making over $250,000 is equivalent to spending money on those businesses and individuals.

This is an extreme concept and one that is best understood by analyzing it personally. Everyone understands that when i "spend" money on a charity or at the grocery, the implication is that i am using my money to make a contribution or to buy chips and beer.

The president clearly believes differently, that my paycheck does not begin its life as mine, from which taxes are taken. Rather, he believes that my paycheck begins life as his, from which residual amounts are beneficently granted to me for living expenses. He clearly believes that the yet untaxed portion of my paycheck is still his, to be "spent" on me at his discretion.

This is revolutionary. This is marx and chavez, and it is a stunningly honest admission of president obama's worldview.

Interesting view....

That is also a stunningly perverse interpretation of what the President said.

It's quite a leap, don't you think, from what the President said that what the author thinks he meant?

Remember when he said at some point, I think you've made enough money?

The man is a socialist at heart.

Who the hell are you to tell people how much money they can make? He's truly alien, other, unlike any other president - and those a NOT good things.

You have made enough money when you can use the surplus to corrupt the government into giving you more. Most of Bush’s Haves and Have Mores qualify.

Obama believes your paycheck is not your own
Our legislators have come to view our paycheck's as part of their slush fund.

What he really meant...
Constitution excepted, I have my own vision of economic equality and justice and will dole out your money as I see fit to accomplish said vision.

Washington, check your ego, you work for us, not the other way around.

Absolutely correct.

Remember this, when Obama said the Warren Court (Civil Rights) didn't go far enough in establishing redistribution of wealth and economic justice?

I was dropping by my children elementary school and look at their book posting behind the glass door and notice a book call "heroes and leaders", the usual people is on it, FDR, Lincoln, and Washington. And then I noticed Obama is on there too. I was like, wtf he do?

My points, Obama is a corporate puppets, not a socialist as some claimed. Look at all the things he have done, he did it for corporations. If he is a socialist as some have claimed, the wealth distribution is across the board, which didn't happen. Only the loss is socialized, profit is privatized.

Either we are a group species or a solitary species. Which is it? If we are a group species, we help each other. The lucky share their spoils with the less lucky of their species. That's how we came to dominant the earth and the other species.

Or we can just declare ourselves a solitary species and we can fight each other for everything. Let's try that some more and see how it works for you. Works great for the other 99% of species below us, doesn't it?
