To really get a feel for the news story, watch the video. The neighbors only apologized after they came under attack. Their behavior in the video shows how heartless and cruel they really are.
Too bad the judge in her ex husband's custody application didn't see fit to review the material. This woman doesn't deserve to have children in her care imho.
Bullies ("big," although I wouldn't call them adults, and little) never change until you call them out for their behavior--they get a sick, perverse pleasure from attacking others. I'm so glad the situation has turned around, and that these people are being held accountable by the public for their actions. It needs to happen more often, and we all need to do it.

So true. When society remains silent in the face of any type of hatred and intolerance, those who would victimize others equate that silence as tacit approval and such behavior will only increase.
