This court does not feel that, under the circumstances, that this defendant had a criminal desire to or intent to sexually assault or to sexually contact the plaintiff when he did. The court believes that he was operating under his belief that it is, as the husband, his desire to have sex when and whether he wanted to, was something that was consistent with his practices and it was something that was not prohibited.

" The decision was later overturned, and stands as "the one and only instance of stealth sharia that anyone has been able to find," according to the Washington Post's Eugene Robinson.

The point is: He is on trial for this. There is no Sharia law anywhere in this country. The key word is law.
"any written or positive rule or collection of rules prescribed under the authority of the state or nation, as by the people in its constitution. Compare bylaw, statute law."

This is but one example of the ignorant lies the GOP is throwing at ignorant voters.

GOP candidate Sharron Angle claims 'Sharia Law' now controls two American cities

Nevada GOP Senate nominee Sharron Angle told a crowd of Tea Party rally-goers last week that two cities — Dearborn, Michigan and Frankford, Texas — are under Sharia law, the sacred law of Islam. There’s just one problem with that statement:

…Frankford, Texas doesn’t really exist.

Remember those WMDs? I continue to fear that the Bush/Cheney lie will come true and someone will find them. George looked all over on the stage and behind the podium and couldn't find. Lies and fears have been the means to control the masses, and for 8 years Bush controlled the nation.

I honestly hope you understand that court decisions affect law. That court's decision established legal precedence to excuse any man who raped and assaulted his wife while believing it was his religious right to do so.

I agree. No law, even if it is in regards to homosexuality or abortion, should be motivated by religion of any kind! That is why the 10 commandment statutes, or any other religious icon, must go from court houses.

Again, you have no clue what separation of church and state means. The 10 commandments are perfectly legal to be there.

You are for laws motivated by religions? If you are, then Sharia law should not be a problem for you either.

If you think Sharia law is a real threat, I have three questions for you:

1) How does 2% of the US population (The Muslim american population-- who by the way don't want Sharia law, but let's pretend they did) impose their will on the other 98%?

2) If even Pakistan doesn't have Sharia law why would we have it here?

3) Doesn't USA law prohibit Sharia Law anyway? The whole Constitution thing....

It's fearmongering and scapegoating, plain and simple...
