"Religious extemism is not ok, unless you're muslim" is the rallying cry of many progressives. I'm convinced this is because muslims are seen as a tool by progressives. Progressives love social justice, and what better of a recipient of social justice than the destitute muslim who is oppressed by others in his/her religion who rule over them, or projecting that guilt of oppression on American Christians who make up its Judeo/Christian culture?
I commend you liberalvoice for seeing through that hypocritical bulls**t and call a spade a spade. Religious extremism is religious extremism.
Of course back in the day when Chechnya was under the thumb of the Soviet Union you would have been cheering all those anti-communist Muslim freedom fighters.
What they want is to have an AUTONOMOUS ISLAMIC REPUBLIC inside RUSSIA.
And Russia won't split their country.
Russia better slay all the ninjas in their country because that's the only way they're going to get them out.
If any country has the guts to exterminate the ninjas causing problems in their country it will be Russia.
And when they do finally stand up and start slaying the ninjas I definitely won't be one who calls for the International Community to condemn their actions. That will be the time when the USA should stand up and support the Russians for their decision to take control of their nation back.
Take a look at how close that state is to the rest of Europe. Turkey is the bridge.

Not I. If the citizens of Chechnya cannot fight against an oppressor, whether it be Marxist or religious in nature, they don't deserve their freedom. By the way, what was the point of making that point? This isn't a left/right issue.
