"Something" is certainly better than nothing; however, I don't think that an advertisement for seasonal work is an indication that there are excessive jobs out there for everyone who wants to work. HOPEFULLY, the jobs which are made available for the Holiday Season will be enormously helpful for the many unemployed people in this country.

Again, holiday season jobs being advertised is not an indication that there are PLENTY OF JOBS available for everyone who wants to work temporarily or permanently. It just means that there are new jobs available for the HOLIDAY SEASON, and those jobs will go away after Christmas.
You're right so why bother to stop getting my free checks and sit at home. Companies need help, people don't want to adjust to their new reality so they'll sit on the dole as long as they can and when it runs out they'll threaten to riot.

Or try this one, Post a Job, Find a Job, Get Career Advice - Monster - The New York Times there might be one or two jobs in there.

Yes, and we've gotten far off topic.

Well, bully for you.

Nor mine.
Good question about so many conservatives who personally know unemployed people who are receiving unemployment benefits and/or public assistance.

I find it interesting that so many conservatives here have MULTIPLE JOBS yet choose to spend what little free time they have posting on CD. One would think they'd be very exhausted from working so many jobs every day.

yada, yada, yada. YOU try following up on all those jobs and see what you get. You're in for a surprise.

Btw, it's almost 10:00 a.m. Thought you had to get up early to go to work today, at one of your multiple jobs.

I'm right about WHAT? I DID NOT say that people should not apply for and accept a seasonal job if offered one. I pointed out that your claim that there were plenty of jobs out there for everyone to have a job if they wanted to work and your "proof" of plenty of jobs, an email from Pier One advertising SEASONAL JOBS, did/does NOT indicate that there are EXCESSIVE JOBS AVAILABLE for everyone who wants to work, and that people are just lazy and refuse to work in lieu of receiving unemployment benefits.

Are you projecting? Are you sure that you wouldn't refuse a part time seasonal job in order to receive more income from unemployment so that you could maintain your current lifestyle while you look for a permanent, higher paying job? lol

You initial claim was that there are jobs available and that in your opinion "people" won't take the jobs because they prefer to not work in order to receive whatever benefits available. I'm saying your "proof" that there are enough jobs available for everyone who NEEDS a job.......the email from Pier One.........does not hold up. It's an advertisement for TEMPORARY, work, SEASONAL JOBS........that does not indicate that the econmoy has rebounded and that there are enough jobs available in this country for every person who wants/needs work.

Up early to go to work today? Do they let you post on Internet boards during work hours?

Why Is Indiana Putting Armed Security Guards Into 36 Unemployment Offices Across The State?

Did you ever think that things in America would get so bad that we would need to put armed guards into our unemployment offices? Well, that is exactly what is happening in Indiana. Armed security guards will now be posted at all 36 full-service unemployment offices in the state of Indiana. So why is this happening now? Well, Indiana Department of Workforce Development spokesman Marc Lotter says that the agency is bringing in the extra security in anticipation of an upcoming deadline when thousands upon thousands of Indiana residents could have their unemployment benefits cut off. But it is not just the state of Indiana that could have a problem. In fact, one recent study found that approximately 2 million Americans will lose their unemployment insurance benefits during this upcoming holiday season unless Congress authorizes another emergency extension of benefits by the end of November. At this point, however, that is looking less and less likely.
America is a police state.....

Please refer to my previous post with a link to the NYT jobs board. I tried twice, and got two jobs. Wasn't all that hard. True I might have dazzled my prospective employers with my charm and grace but my feeling is they probably just needed someone and I fit the bill. There are pages and pages of jobs.

So you're NOT working. You're posting on the Internet on your employer's dime. lol.

Now tell me, how is that different from people who are openly NOT working and instead receiving unemployment benefits?
