What gays want to do is force others to accept gay sex as normal by labeling their unnatural unions marriage.
Paranoia strikes deep in the heartland.
Plastic is unnatural but I don't hear anyone complaining about it.
Mills Darden weighed over 1200 lbs. His wife weighed less than 100. That ain't natural!
Why is gay the only group that it's socially acceptable to hate, demean, distort, lie about, accuse, demonize, reject?
As a gay man, all I want is my lover and I to get all the legal things that a straight couple gets in terms of powers and protections. If you consider that 'force' then you must have a hard time on a sunny day since we all know the sun 'forces' you to squint. That unnatural sun (fists in air)!
What amazes me is that most of the haters are christers; you know, the religion of love.
Didn't their Jesus say to treat others as you want to be treated; so as you do unto the least of your brethern, you do to me?
I sure don't see this treatment as love.
Who would Jesus hate?

It is not.
When you get divorced, who do you go to for dissolution of your marriage?
The STATE.
The State allows religious organizations to perform marriages for the STATE.
Please show otherwise.
Betcha 50 cents that you can't.
And would other judges interpret the law differently?
Possibly, but then we're talking about Iowa's Constitution, not any other states. So are we saying we keep firing the Supreme Court until we get the decision we want? Has any Supreme Court said NO to this issue when given the same argument and working with a Constitution that wasn't already altered by the right wing to disallow gay marriage?

That was the point I was trying to make. The law is what it is and voting out judges is not going to change the law. And I don't think there is any appetite for a constitutional amendment on the subject either.

As I understand it, once those judges made their determination, the only way to oppose it was to wait until 2012 and get 2/3 of the state house to overturn it, which was very unlikely. This so enraged the religious right that millions in outside dollars were spent to oust three judges that were crucial to the decision. You're right, it won't change anything but it sure shows exactly how hateful, spiteful, and anti-Christian the Christian right has become.
I keep insisting that we don't need terrorists to destroy our country. We have each other!
Our country has been in worse situations i.e., 1920s era depression, the great depression, world war 1 and 2, Vietnam, etc. None of which were caused by gays prancing around singing Broadway tunes to themselves. The majority of crimes that effect the public at large are committed by corporate leaders i.e., Enron, Arthur Anderson, WorldCom, etc. None of them had gay leaders. Let's be for real.
