I'm not at all concerned about it, but loosing communication with them is a big deal, even if they are sitting in a silo. How about if we lose communications with AF1 while its traveling? no, no big deal, everyone knows where it is because we have fighter jets there.. WRONG.. its an indication that there is a flaw in the system that needs fixed..

You can ridicule the story but the issue if true, is a very big deal!!
This is not a big deal. Did you notice that they didn't mention where these ICBM's were located (in their silos)? Because, while in the silos, there are backups in triplicate to all arming, firing, and communications systems. They lost one set (assuming - the primary mode) of communications. To lose all forms of communications would incapacitate the missile rendering it worthless. If all 3 modes of communication were lost, I guarantee you that we would not even be able to communicate like we are right now. It would be an apocalyptic event occurring.

Time for a remake of Dr Strangelove, if only they can get Dick Cheney to play the title role

Does "I didn't know it was loaded" work with missile silos?
