You'd better fact check this.

Q: Is President Obama’s trip to India going to cost $200 million per day?
A: This highly doubtful claim originated with one Indian news agency quoting an anonymous source in Mumbai. The White House says it is "wildly exaggerated," and there’s no evidence to support such a huge figure.

FULL QUESTION

There are reports all over that Obama’s India trip will cost $200 million per day. I haven’t been able to find a credible rebuttal to this but I can’t believe it could be true.

FULL ANSWER
This story has spread rapidly among the president’s critics, but there is simply no evidence to support it. And common sense should lead anyone to doubt it. For example, the entire U.S. war effort in Afghanistan currently costs less than that — about $5.7 billion per month, according to the Congressional Research Service, or roughly $190 million per day. How could a peaceful state visit cost more than a war?
What else can you get for $200 million? Try the New Jersey Nets basketball team or possibly the Hope diamond — if only the Smithsonian were selling it (http://www.smithsonianchannel.com/site/sn/pdf/press/2010_10_21_hope.pdf - broken link)..........

Wonk Room » House Republicans Still Can’t Name Any Programs They Would Cut To Offset Extending The Bush Tax Cuts

That's so weird because Democrats cut Medicare by half a trillion yet increased overall spending as a function of GDP to a level not seen since WW2.

Dems still have the WH and the Senate..Repubs have the House.
Letting Bush's temporary tax cuts expire for the top 2% earners will not go against Obama's promise. Obama promised not to raise taxes on anyone earning < 250K/year.

If Democrats and Republicans can compromise by letting Bush's tax cuts expire and slashing Medicare and Medicaid spending, the US would instantly cut the deficit down to a manageable size. However, I don't know what raising taxes while massively cutting healthcare spending (which is calculated as part of Personal Consumption) will do to an economy already on shaky ground. This is a question that only people much smarter than I can answer.

LIE.. Tax cuts INCREASED revenues, and DOUBLED capital gains tax revenues. If you INCREASE revenues THERE IS NO COST..

The dirty little secret is your left wing blog is LYING to you. Government has grown 21% in the last two years EXCLUDING the war and stimulus spending.. Has Social Security and Medicare increased 21%? NO.. Thats right.. government has grown by 21% since Obama has been elected.. think about that and then come back and tell me there is no where to cut!!

Redesign Welfare, offer the welfare community more work that they can accept and not harm their gross pay. IE if a welfare check is $500 and work pay is only $400 don't remove the welfare check, let the person earn the $400 and welfare pays the remaining $100.

Remove the ability for Illegal Undoc workers from using their American born kids for welfare gain. If a child under 18 has his/her undocumented parents deported the minor child goes with

Stop spending money on pork. Eliminate the ability to add additional amendments to existing bills that send money to a non related place. Right the bill, debate the bill, add and remove wording that is related to that bills issue.

If a student uses Government loans to gain an education, allow for that student to eliminate interest via degree related services. IE if a person becomes a lawyer and gets loans. the Interest on the loan can be paid by providing pro bono representation. To may people are having there credit destroyed by student loans that can't be paid.

Dump FEMA. Simply that have no ability to do their job. Turn that money over to the states for individual response.

Reevaluate tax breaks for religious organizations. Providing community services is one thing but having property that is leased out is another as is owning stock in non church related businesses.

Have pay raises for our representatives based on public 2 year vote by the people. Freshmen making less the Seniors

Hows that for a republican with no ideas?

So then, where exactly will the Republicans suggest to cut spending?

Cut spending? try some of these.....

~ Cut down on the number of agencies related to counter-terrorism (there are 1,271 with 854,000 people).
~ Scrap the Department of the Interior
~ Reduce the size of the Department of Homeland Security
~ Reduce the layers of bureaucracy in all federal agencies
~ Cut back on the defense budget, lets stop being the policeman of the world

And I'm sure there are thousands of other things that can be trimmed back as far as spending goes.

Geezus people start looking at your government and how it works, what it is comprised of... Stop jerking around like a puppet on a string when some TV news bozo comes out with the Medicare scare talk, like that's the only place we can trim.
