I tried to count every instance of a Tea Party candidate being chosen instead of an establishment-backed Republican (for example, Scott Brown had Tea Party support but he never defeated an establishment Republican in a primary so he is not on this list). Then I looked at what the general election outcome was.
Christine O'Donnell defeated Mike Castle in Delaware and LOST Rand Paul defeated Trent Grayson in Kentucky and WON Sharron Angle defeated Sue Lowden in Nevada and LOST Mike Lee defeated Bob Bennett in utah and WON Joe Miller defeated Lisa Murkowski in Alaska and LOST (to Murkowski, so the seat stays Republican) Ken Buck defeated Jane Norton in Colorado and LOST
The losses of Tea Party candidates to the Senate are equivalent to the margin by which the GOP fell short of 50 seats.
I note how you guys forgot to list some other prominant candidates..
Ron Johnson WIN..
Nikki Haley, WIN
And you also fail to understand that the Tea Party endorsed Democrats as well as Republicans
Walt Minnick from idaho for example..
Unfortunately, like most people, I think he gets his way of thinking from the major news networks. For once, I'd like to see people break away from this paradigm of gleaning our attitudes from the mass media.
For goodness' sake people, THINK FOR YOURSELVES! The TV isn't some kind of truth box.

It was pretty obvious what the Minnick endorsement was (which he rejected btw). It was a way to say look we aren't endorsing all Republicans see, meanwhile it was one Democrat compared to 138 Republicans. Minnick saw it for what it was and rejected the endorsement.
Stop talking about the Tea Party! Just like the Bush presidency was declared never to have ever happened in 2009, so shall the Tea Party be declared to never have happened in 2011 now that the Repugs have the majority.
The Tea Party is one component of the conservative message. Millions of people who cast their ballots were never TP affiliates, but shared the same or similar sentiments. The totality of the circumstances is what matters. The electorate is piissed and it shows in the election results.

Thanks for being crazy, Republicans
