I read this one earlier today and then learned tonight that Olbermann gets to come back on MSLSD. I wonder how many people can read this article without becoming aware of just what Olbermann really is. Politico says that one of them is a communist and I have known about that one for some time.

Remember to avoid this link because of what it is. Never read anything that comes from anyplace MM wouldn't appreciate.

Olbermann funded co-chair of 'Marxist-socialist' bloc

The USSR fell in 1991, but some folks are still suckers for 'reds under the bed' nostalgia, I see.

No, McCarthy was rather sane compared to this. McCarthy's targets didn't really pose much of a threat to civilization in the grand scheme of things, but some of them, at least, actually were Communists.

MSLSD? What kind of a lame, derogatory nickname is that? I've heard better ones.

Ah, but the failed experiment of socialism rears its ugly head from time to time. Kind of like candy corn...you forgot it sucked the last time it was tried, so you take a bite. Then you remembered that it sucked again.

Hating on Communists is so 20 years ago. People have been brainwashed into mindlessly hating Communism even though they hardly even know the basics about it.

Yeah, a governmental structure centered on sealing the borders so no one can get out, creating an informant network to rat out its own citizens, an economic model that eliminates incentives to succeed, and execution of political dissenters shouldn't be hated.

I do not like the Communist system very much myself. But almost all these things you mention are stereotypes about Communism that are not universally true.

A lot of Communist countries do have these aspects that you mention. But these are not inherently Communist principles. These are things that happen when Communist countries fall to corruption and tyrany.

I could easily make a scary and terrible sounding list about Capitalism or Democracy too. But that's just one side of the coin.

Before you all reply to me calling me a Communist. I'll repeat that I DO NOT LIKE COMMUNISM. And I personally would not want to live a communist country.

I have lived in 2 communist countries before, and I didn't particularly like the system in either one. But I could see that it's really not too much worse than a corrut Capitalist Democracy.
