Technically, even "Merry Christmas" is misleading: December 25th is Christmas Day, but the following days through January 5th are collectively Christmastide (the legendary "twelve days of Christmas"). On January 6th is Epiphany, another holy day. All of these days together are holy days (holidays), and only the first is specifically "Christmas." Thus, "Happy Holidays" is a good way to acknowledge December 25-January 6, and not just the first day of the sequence.
I've never heard a Jewish or Muslim person complain about people saying "Merry Christmas." Most of the complainers tend to be former Christians turned atheist or agnostic.
"Happy Holidays" is an all inclusive saying for the many different holidays during this time of the year. If you're not comfortable in saying it then don't, and let those who enjoy saying it, say it.
So "Happy Holidays" which includes Thanksgiving, Hanukah, Christmas, New Years, and any others celebrated this time of the year.
Oh, and a Happy Super Bowl too, hope your team wins.
Some just want to take Christ out of Christmas. Ever see signs saying Merry Xmas?
It makes the sheeples more politicaly correct so as not to offend the small minority who don't believe in Christ.
I don't say Happy Holidays.
I say Merry Christmas and Happy New year.
Not inclusive. Two different holidays.

Lol. You know why they chose the letter X, and not the letter Y or Z? Because X looks like a cross. Like Jesus Christ hanging on the cross.
I don't see how "Xmas" takes the "Christ" out of "Christmas." I'd agree with you if it were Ymas or Zmas, but it's Xmas for that very reason.
I don't understand what all the hoopla is about. It's the "whole" holiday season. Who really cares how you say it. It's just a greeting and it's meant to be nice. I don't celebrate any holidays but I still wish anyone and everyone a pleasant one no matter what they celebrate. To be fair and encompass "all people and all holidays" I say Seasons Greetings and Happy Holidays. If I "know" you are Christian and not a hypocrite I will say Merry Christmas. Too many people are caught up up the material hype of Christmas anyway and not the true meaning of Christmas so Happy Holidays to them also
Besides what happened to Christians being nice, charitable and being understanding? Maybe we should practice what we preach a little more. I grew up with a lot of Jews in NY and they never got offended by Merry Christmas.
