Democrats are whining about ... not enough revenue to pay for all of our entitlements. Entitlements that Democrats find necessary ... but which most Americans find to be a waste of money.

I'd like to know why Democrats don't just dump their money into the treasury ( at will ).

You can pay more into the IRS than they require.

If you want to make a difference for your cause, now is the time.

But you won't.

It's hard enough to get Democrats to pay taxes at all, just look at the Obama appointed cabinet and the scores of people who "forgot" about paying taxes. Charlie Rangel didn't even pay what he owed much less any extra. A lot of Democrats pay no federal taxes at all and want others to pay more...

Most Americans do not find it to be a complete waste of money, just a partial. Obviously there is a deep demographical and political divide in this country. Just wait 20 more years and you guys will be the minority in both respects.

It is just another example of liberal hypocrisy. Libs want YOU to pay more taxes, but not them.

Ask a liberal to volunteer for a charity event, donate to charity, leave a nice tip for a waiter..ect- a liberal will turn and run! They are as cheap and greedy as the day is long and will NEVER give thier own money to the causes that they promote. Thier "job" is to feel heartfelt false sympathy and others are to pay the bills.

Um

"According to this poll, 91% of Tea Partiers want a smaller government with fewer services. Despite this hostility to big government, 62% of Tea Partiers believe that Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are worth the cost (apparently no one bothered to tell them that Social Security and Medicare are evil Godless socialist programs). This would suggest that in order to achieve fiscal sanity the Tea Party believes that spending cuts are to be implemented elsewhere within the vast expenditures of the federal apparatus. However when one examines their beliefs on paying down the debt, the result is somewhat troubling. When asked whether they preferred deficit reduction or tax cuts, 49% of Tea Partiers said they would favor tax reduction while 42% would prefer deficit reduction."

Tea party hypocrisy on Medicare and Social Security | Cynthia Tucker

Damned entitlement programs. I guess the Tea Party is made up of 62% democrats.

Because most of them are hypocrites, they sit on their high horse and pretend they care, and pretend they are noble and compassionate. The truth is that they are none of these, and will only give more if they can get government to force them and everyone to pay more in taxes.

Case in point, we have 90+ millionaires who signed a letter to 0bama, asking him to let the Bush tax rates expire, so they can pay more taxes. but when a reporter called some of them to ask if they would voluntarily write a check to the IRS and donate money to the government, they refused.

“I pay the taxes that I am required to pay, just like everybody else,” said Ron Garret, a software engineer turned angel investor who earned his fortune at Google. “I follow the law, I play by the rules, even when I don’t like the rules, even when I think the rules are wrong.”

“I do everything I can to pay the least taxes that I’m required to pay,” said John Katzman, CEO of 2tor and founder of Princeton Review. “I’m not proposing that anybody decides to send a check to the government, and I’m not going to do that. The tax code was written to be followed, not to say it’s wrong.”

“I don’t bend over backwards to find every tax loophole,” he added, “but if I’m due a deduction, I take it.”

Just like Warren Buffett, who wrings his hands over how little he ends up paying, after his team of accountants find every loophole and financial maneuver to hide as much of his wealth as possible from the IRS.

I think they don't want to be disadvantaged compared to others. I would be willing to pay more taxes, if everybody else would pay the same, but I am not willing to pay more taxes if others still pay nothing or the half of my tax rate.

It is all about equality and same rights and duties for every citizen.
Taxes are not a charity event, they are our obligation and responsibility for our nation and the weaker persons in our society.

Paying more taxes if everybody else doesn't makes no sense.
