Senate Democrats on Tuesday unveiled a broad agenda for an end-of-session sprint that, in other years, could be a whole year's worth of activity — ranging from an arms-reduction treaty with Russia to a major immigration bill to overturning the ban on gay troops.
And that's not to mention the nearly 2,000-page, $1.1 trillion massive spending bill Senate Democrats said they'll try to push through. The bill contains hundreds of pork-barrel spending projects and new rules governing everything from airport baggage to detainees at the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
They did show remarkable constraint on earmarks! Only $8bil, .7%, and Repubs showed their commitment to earmark elimination, by only providing $2bil of that.
Wow! The difference between the House and Senate bills is....a paltry $16 Billion.
You do know, don't you, that the alternative to passing this bill is shutting down the government?
And, are you as outraged over the additional $900 BILLION added to the deficit because of the tax cut and unemployment deal the "fiscally conservative" GOP forced on Obama?
What I don't understand is why college and high school age students aren't more angry about their government pissing away their future. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi (and other old people in the House and Senate) will be dead from old age before the future adults of America wake up and realize what they have done to them.

Because they are used to hand outs and have been socialized to believe this is the norm rather than the exception. Young people today have very few reference points to give their compass a true North at personal responsibility. They are the entitlement generation, living with their parents longer than those before, having more children out of wedlock, lowest employment numbers, government enabled dependency upon their parents health insurance to age 26, etc.... .

Actually, no, try $130 Billion. But, don't let the facts get in your way.
Pubs continue to complain about "spending" when they perceive Dems are doing it, yet sit on their hands when Pubs do it for warmongering. We're trying to dig ourselves out of the Dubya Dark Ages, and this requires SPENDING.
Bush/Republicans crumbled the structure over 8 years. We have to spend to rebuild it.
Warmongering? The Iraq War was voted on with a bunch of Dimos on board like Rockefeller,Clinton to use force but against funding it? Sounds like they were setting old George up for a fall to gain points. To get out of the HOLE requires spending CUTS with Congress and all of the Government in the crosshairs.
Well, the uber wealthy will get additional tax breaks on Estate taxes, that they do not get now.
No, they don't Congress is proposing cutting double taxation, seems right to me. And that doesn't add up to $800 billion the psoter was complaining about.
