Here is the letter I sent to my Senator.

Quote:
As a registered Republican, I'm outraged by this compromise. The extension of the tax rates can stand on it's own merits, not be bundled with all the other things the democrats have heaped upon us, earmarks included. There should be only one vote on this issue, up or down, yes or no. That is after all how we elect politicians.

I'm convinced that Washington simply does not get it. Next election, look for more incumbents to be sent packing.
All citizens need to flood their elected officials with their views whatever they are!

Get involved America!

I am outraged that Obama caved in to the Republicans on both healthcare and tax exemptions. I thought I voted for a real Democrat and I got a spineless centrist compromiser. This country needs a real honest Populist that will end this pseudo aristocratic corporatist tyranny looting our economy.

Um, you do realize that most of the earmarks in the bill came from Republican states right?

I don't like the bill because its not deficit neutral, and if I were a Republican, that would be what I'd be angry about. The 1% of the bill that is earmarks wouldn't be on the top of my list of things I disagree with when we go 1 trillion dollars into debt

I've about given up on waiting for the next Teddy Roosevelt. Without him (or her), we're doomed.

Agreed. I wanted/want him to succeed so badly, too. Not just in that the economy improves and all the typical stuff, but that we get a President who actually makes the sweeping change and reforms we need. I know the President has to compromise sometimes, but its just gotten ridiculous. I'd rather have Anthony Weiner at this point...
