Obama gets mileage out of lame duck Congress

Obama delayed his vacation to Hawaii to keep working and congress is also working hard for America!

Quote:
It's been anything but a lame end of the congressional session for President Obama, thanks to big Democratic majorities that won't be around the next two years.

Obama has signed a tax cut extension deal that many analysts liken to a second stimulus bill that will juice the economy and reduce unemployment; this week, he ends the military's ban on gays by signing a repeal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.
Quote:
The president is also gunning for a major arms cut deal with Russia, though that might be a tight vote; Obama may get new health care legislation for 9/11 responders.

Obama and the Dems have had the same overwhelming majorities in the House and Senate for two years. Why do you suppose they waited until the last month of the Congress to push these measures? Simple. They knew that enough Dems facing tough re-election challenges would defect if they tried to do all this crap before they election. In a word they didn't want to face the voters with these votes on their record because they are indefensible. The lame duck session is a thumb in the eye of the voters in November. Way to go, Dems!

Are you implying that no Republican voted in favor of the lame duck bills?
