She has 5 kids
The oldest is 6.
That means she's had 5 kids while being ON welfare.
How on earth can anyone think to bring 5 kids into this world as a single mother and be on welfare as your source of income ????
And then read about Joy..on and off for 10 years and admits "she's not motivated".
Who is going to slap some sense into these people ?

She's living in housing under a program in DC.

And that program has health services so it was available to her for free.

Uh huh. All poor people are just like this. No one in the history of the program ever used it for it's intended purpose and bettered themselves. Never happened, not once.

It's an expected consequence of rewarding consumption and penalizing production. In other words, if you reward the takers, and penalize the givers, the takers "take over".
And the libs know this. That is why they cry for higher taxes on the rich and estate taxes and anything else they can think of to take from hard workers and give to a person like the one mentioned in the article.

Correct. How America deals with addicts is extremely ass backwards. We need to have a drug addict labor camp to pay for their drugs on the condition they can never leave until clean and sober. When they realize the voluntary prison they put themselves in, it might motivate them a little better but either way society shouldn't have to cover their tab. Having 5 kids while on welfare was addressed by norplant once upon a time but that had nasty side effects. Perhaps if the rules changed where a new one on the way reduced the check, or even removal to foster care, might steer them in the correct direction.
Either way, TANF has lifetime limits, and the end of the road is just that. The end. I can already hear those wheels turning in her head- gotta find a man.
