He is just posturing and saying "NO" as usual. Have you heard a Republican actually PROPOSE anything lately? They just throw tantrums and whine about other people's ideas without actually proposing any of their own. Besides, this treaty is actually much more advantageous to the US and NATO than to the Russian Federation.

p.s. this treaty has been up for review for months! Suddenly, McConnell springs into action now, has he been asleep prior?

Landay:

Many of his assertions don't check out.

McConnell:

1. First and foremost, a decision of this magnitude should not be decided under the pressure of a deadline.

2. The American people don't want us to squeeze our most important work into the final days of a session.

Landay:

No nuclear arms control treaty has ever been considered during a lame-duck Senate session. Other arms control accords, however, have had less debate on the Senate floor and fewer committee hearings than New START has.

McConnell:

...does nothing to significantly reduce the Russian Federation's stockpile of strategic arms.

Landay:

It's true that Russia could keep as many warheads in storage as it wishes

Nice job pointing out those inconsistencies Landay!

McConnell may be close to topping Beck in the biggest douchebag department.
