So I guess children who are born into poverty and are never shown a better way of life have no one to blame but themselves, right?
In America anyone can pull themselves up. I don't buy that. Heck...we've all heard stories of slaves that escaped and became doctors in the North. Did anyone "show them a better way"? Or did they work hard?

Try that if your taking care of a chronically ill child, or have had two hip replacements, or any number of other reasons. It is so easy for someone who is successful or even just treading water with one illness away from poverty to state something like that.
