We've become a nation of sissies.
So, children need to be beaten so that you can feel tough?

WTF.

Do you consider whipping children as dicipline or child abuse
It's abuse disguised as discipline.

Do you think he meant something else?

Are we going to play semantic games now?

His "sissies" comment is very telling, I think, of where his opinion is coming from.

It's certainly not born of parental love or concern.

"Whipping" which is in the OP, certainly implies beating. Many people differentiate between "spanking", "hitting" and "whipping". I'm not keen on hitting kids at all, though I will acknowledge having done so with my own, but whipping is in a different category altogether. It usually implies using a whip, for one thing.

Using a belt is whipping. That is what was used on me. It was hardly anything to write home about.

I think he said "physical discipline". He didn't say "beaten". There is a difference.

Spoiled brat throws a tantrum - YouTube

Supernanny - The Ririe Family 1/10 - YouTube

No need to call Super Nanny....

A good spanking is good for your child..... Nothing wrong with it. The rear end has extra padding just for that purpose!

Kids will try you....they will test you. I did it! My dad cured me!

The bible is true:
A youngster's heart is filled with foolishness, but physical discipline will drive it far away. Proverbs 22:15
Quote:
He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him. Proverbs 13:24
There are lots of other things that go along with corporeal punishment. Warnings, lectures, the deletion of privileges etc..... spanking is the last resort. But I guarantee you...if you tan that hide nicely, they will heed your words the next time.

Painful things are good for us. They make us stronger and wiser. They don't feel good at the time. But most of us don't see the light, 'til we feel the HEAT!
