What's the conservative alternative to the current healthcare law? Since conservatives refer to the current law as "job killing" how will their alternative law help create jobs?

Well billions in write downs for a start.

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/27/bu.../27health.html

"In a memorandum summarizing its investigation, the Democratic staff of the committee said, “The companies acted properly and in accordance with accounting standards in submitting filings to the S.E.C. in March and April.”
Moreover, it said, “these one-time charges were required by applicable accounting rules.” The committee staff said this view was confirmed by independent experts at the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the American Academy of Actuaries.
Mr. Waxman, the chairman of the committee, and Mr. Stupak canceled a hearing at which they had planned to question executives on the effects of the law.
A tabulation by the United States Chamber of Commerce shows that at least 40 companies have taken charges against earnings that total $3.4 billion since the law was signed.
“Companies like AT&T, Verizon and a range of stakeholder associations are hopeful that the benefits of the new law will outweigh the costs,” Mr. Waxman and Mr. Stupak said in a memorandum to committee members. “But they cannot quantify the benefits until the law is implemented.”
AT&T, which took a $995 million charge to reflect the impact of the health care overhaul, said it would be “evaluating prospective changes to the active and retiree health care benefits offered by the company.”"

I would still like to know exactly how the healthcare bill is a "job killing bill."

Can you explain what jobs are killed here? I am not able to figure it out. Thanks.

It's not, but that thought only serves to confuse them. It doesn't jive with their "bible's" atonal Montra.

My life-long savings were in the house. That means, at age 58, I will be jobless (due to the medical condition), and penniless.

Thanks Republicans!

No offense but whose fault is it you have no savings at near 60?

Now on to the repeal of Obamacare!

Repeal what? It will never get past the senate so it's largely a ceremonial measure with little value.

Oh sure let me help you out. You see corporations pay employees with money, you know US currency. So when the government takes billions of those dollars away from them, they have to make up for that. So that usually translates into downsizing. Hope this helps.

It's a job creation bill actually. And if even the GOP understand (which clearly the OP does not) that this is all symbolic and that they aren't going to overturn anything.

In short it's a huge waste of time, and they should be concentrating on getting work done (you know, create jobs like they said) rather than wasting time for dog and pony shows.
