Every gov't knows that oil is a finite resource and they are laying claim world wide to it. The United States has pursued a deliberate path to claim oil and precious metals in the world.

Your viewpoint. (serious only)

The US has secured itself access to the oil fields of Iraq under the false pretense of spreading democracy and Iraq possessing WMD. Also the US is best friends with the ruthless dictatorship and terror-sponsor that is Saudi-Arabia, so I would say you don't have to worry about running out of oil anytime soon...

Ever wonder why we are spending so much money, time and lives "protecting" oil that will never be shipped to the United States. We are protecting the profits to be derived from selling this oil to the enemies of the United States to assure the profits of Big Oil, the Saudi Monarchy, British Petroleum and Exxon among others. We are trading the lives of our soldiers for the profits of the petroleum plutocracy. Our cost for their profit.

I'm investigating this. We may want to think again.

He believes that we are about to enter a period of scarcity of a finite resource. that is why the world is aggressively getting access to oil, the Tarsands project in Canada etc. If he is wrong, ok. If he is right, we are in for real trouble.

My viewpoint? This is leftwing paranoia. The only oil the U.S. government pursues is the puchase of oil on the world market for the Petroleum Reserve. As far as I know the U.S. government has no arrangement with any country to assure a steady supply of oil to our country. Private oil companies are free to enter into whatever agreement they want and feel they need to assure access to oil (that's their business, after all) but if those deals go belly up because a communist like Hugo Chavez expropriates private property their recourse is in the courts, not the U.S. government or the military.

it will be interesting to see if the "markers" show up in the next few years. I honestly do not know but I think that his presentation is well researched so maybe paranoia is not the right word...but hey we're all entitled to our opinions. It sure does explain Iraq however no?

Ditch oil. Switch to an economy powered by electricity. Use nuclear, wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal to satisfy our electricity needs. Use bio-fuels for powering larger heavy machinery.
