But please keep playing the lottery and hoping you'll hit that jackpot.
I'm not for government assistance. I believe friends, neighbors, churches, etc should help out those in need. Gov't assistance has never worked and never will.
Your question didn't ask if the gov't should help, but are they worth helping if I remember correctly.

And I don't throw my hard earned $$ away on the lottery BTW.

So helping homeless degenerate drug addicts and alcoholics is "contributing" to society?

No, the inference is that the only contribution you seem to be making to society is paying taxes.

For someone who allegedly pays a "sh1t ton" of taxes your reading comprehension is remarkably poor. I asked what your use to society was?Let's say that "sh1t ton" of money goes to "helping homeless degenerate drug addicts and alcoholics ", what is your use to society? You're apparently stuck for an answer.

It is helping a person in need. It is part of humanity. For the grace of God there go I or someone I love.

Granted a lot of people get involved in addictive behavior and have impulse control/disipline problems.

But we who have been dealt better cards, or, if you like, have played the cards we have been dealt better should help our fellow man.

What else should I do? That's what 90% of Americans do. Work, support their family and PAY TAXES.

I don't see Americans storming the streets trying to help all the homeless people or whatever they think is a "contribution" to society.

Dealt better cards? I grew up with nothing living in very poor conditions and worked hard to be financially stable. No one ever helped me.
