Yes the bounce that was expected by all brought Obama to -5 but he has been going back down the tubes since the third day after the bounce. Here we find him near to what he should have been all along. Tomorrow it will be an even better number, as far as I am concerned.

Here is an interesting opinion:

Obama’s State of the Union reminds me of the Taco Bell lawsuit in the news this same week. California consumers are suing Taco Bell for calling an item on their menu a “beef taco.” The class-action lawsuit claims that the “beef taco” barely has any beef in it -- less than 35% to be exact. Instead, the lawsuit claims it contains isolated oat product, binders and extenders.

Well, that beef taco would make Obama proud. There’s no meat in Obama’s product either. Obama knows his audience likes meat, so he mixes in a spoonful of meat, along with isolated oat product, binders, extenders and other assorted artificial rubbish that tastes a little like meat. He wins your support with the bait and switch. But there is no substance. Where's the beef? When Obama is done with the Presidency, he has the perfect skills to serve as CEO of Taco Bell.

Obama’s real State of the Union is just more campaign payola. Can you imagine if we played a game of “What does he really mean?” Just substitute “wasted government spending and debt for the same old failed programs” every time Obama used the word “investment” in the State of the Union speech. That’s the unvarnished truth -- without the sales and marketing, without the bait and switch.

Why call it “Cash for Flunkers?” Because spending billions of extra dollars on education is not an “investment.” It’s just more money down the drain for the same programs and ideas that have already led to the disastrous catastrophic failure of the U.S. education system.

umm, did you notice that there's a revolution going on in Egypt? Maybe people are distracted by the PRESENT MOMENT.

It's called a dead cat bounce.

Gallup had him @ 48-45 today.

I think his response to Egypt hasn't helped him either, since he's making a mess of things.

But when the shooting in AZ was happening and he got a little bounce from it, that "present moment" didn't count either?

Do you need a personal report about this one from now on? I get the results of it every day and would be glad to forward it to you via personal message so you could see that he will be higher daily for some time.

I guess you don't know that Rasmussen calls likely voters for their polls so people who can't handle more than one thing at once aren't called, I bet.

Did you look at the link? It always helps to do that.

There is a big difference in Rasmussen and Gallup. Rasmussen calls about 1000 people every day and usually they know that when something like Egypt hasn't showed up yet on their poll since Obama failed just this week to do anything. The Rasmussen is a daily thing and Gallup is weekly.

Rasmussen: When tracking President Obama’s numbers on a daily basis, people sometimes get so caught up in the day-to-day fluctuations that they miss the bigger picture.

Pollster: National Job Approval: Pres. Barack Obama
One poll does not indicate a trend. Pollster shows a poll of polls (you can edit the list if you like) that doesn't yet show a reversal of Obama's recent fortunes.

Further down in the article we are discussing I find these words and wonder if you read that far,

In a book released earlier this year, Scott observed that, "The gap between Americans who want to govern themselves and politicians who want to rule over them may be as big today as the gap between the colonies and England during the 18th century." He added that “The American people don’t want to be governed from the left, the right, or the center. They want to govern themselves.” In Search of Self-Governance is available at Amazon.com.

I don't think that you want to see the Rasmussen numbers that show a severe change the past two days and that the -15 of today is much closer to where he has been on that one for the past year. Rasmussen seldom fails to mention the things you do but they do report daily, anyway.
