Is this lost?

Has our youth been brainwashed to be non-patriotic?

Has our youth been dumbed down not to be the best?

Are they teaching our youth, competition is a bad thing?

Our youth is our future. Is there a lost generation, or two that has no idea what patriotism is?

I disagree with everthing you say here.

And no, there is no lost generation that has no idea about the meaning of patriotism.

Saying that you love your country is one thing.

Saying that there aren't better examples of things we could do better here is another.

Our education system sucks, our healthcare system kills 45,000 people a year because they don't have insurance, and we have homeless people in the richest country in the world.

I love my country, I want to make it better. But when you tell some people that, they look at you like you're a communist.

Why should you be proud to be American, or Danish or whatever. That is just stupid. Patriotism is a convenient tool for manipulating the masses, so thanks no

Funny thing is they are probably communists themselves and don't realize it.
Dependence on redistribution, government hand outs or government employment is problematic and disabling to people.

Honestly - I think it's just a realization that one nation doesn't have to be deemed intrinsically "better" than another. For some people, Switzerland is the greatest country; for others, Japan. For me it's definitely this country, but even within that for some Utah's the best state, for others Delaware.

Some countries do some things well, while others do other things well. It's life in the global world. Nothing to do with brainwashing. I think the internet has created a very globally aware generation or two that aren't manipulated by blind jingoism and can be more objective.

We have some that are still very patriotic. The little boy with the flag on his bike remember that story

But at the same time I never thought I would see boys get in trouble for wearing a shirt with the American flag on it simply because it was a mexican holiday.

Yes many are teaching our children that competition is bad. We hand out trophy to everyone know. Remember the girls basketball team that made the news because they were accused of running up the score. Its ridiculous

It isn’t politically correct to be patriotic. There are no losers and everybody is a winner. Right...

Not only do we have homeless people in the richest country in the world, we have homeless veterans, some who gave limbs and sanity to defend this country. WTF?!?!?!?!

Nobody likes a chest-thumper.
