'Christian Conservative' Should Replace Jewish Speaker, Some Texas Pols Say - FoxNews.com

Texas Tea Partiers want to oust the Jewish republican representative and replace him with a good old "Christian conservative". Hilariously denying that it has anything to do with bigotry, yet championing again and again that only a Christian would do. One fun email said he "Will go down in Jesus's name".

Or people can believe Felicia Cravens, founder of the Houston Tea Party Society, that tea Partiers in Texas are stupid..."I think people have been intellectually lazy in using 'Christian' and 'conservative' interchangeably ... and there's a lot of that in Texas".

Even funnier is that this is reported on Fox News, seemingly attempting to distance the GOP for wacko Tea Party groups after the election.

"Chris Elam, spokesman for the Republican Party of Texas, distanced the party from the entire debate, noting that the state GOP does not involve itself in the internal race for speaker."

More anti-jew rhetoric from the tea party, how unsurprising

The republicans are losing control of the tea party message all over the country, and it's turning radically social conservative. They played a dangerous game when Koch pumped tons of money into those tea party campaigns--they were able to keep things focused on the economy to try to mobilize voters while winking and nodding to the social conservatives--but now they have to pay the price, because they've given them real power. It's an embarrassment for the R's (that's why FOX is attempting to distance this group from the mainstream) but they created this monster. Swing voters--traditionally moderates--are going to run from this, and the R's need them to win. I don't know that the Koch brothers have enough money to pump in to fix it next time around.

E-mails targeting Texas House Speaker Joe Straus cite his Judaism, rivals' Christianity | Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas and National Politics and Elections News - News for Dallas, Texas - The Dallas Morning News

Quote:
Straus, R-San Antonio (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/San_Antonio - broken link) , "clearly lacks the moral compass to be speaker," said another, written by Southeast Texas conservative activist Peter Morrison (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Peter_Morrison - broken link).
"Both Rep. Warren Chisum (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Warren_Chisum - broken link) and Rep. Ken Paxton, who are Christians and true conservatives, have risen to the occasion to challenge Joe Straus for leadership," Morrison wrote in his newsletter last Thursday, referring to two Republicans who are running against Straus for speaker.
Just for clarification...Morrison runs the White Supremacy site VDARE.com.

The letter originated w/ the Fredricksburg, Tx Tea Party, and was then picked up by other groups including the Texas Pastor Council.

Go figure.

There are no real surprises here. The focus of the American Conservative Movement is to maintain and expand political, economic, and social power for White Christian Americans. If you are non-White or non-Christian you are perfectly free to join the movement as "window dressing" so that Conservatives can claim a small measure of diversity but don't expect to gain any real power within the movement.

Tea Partiers don't trust Jews. They blame all of society's ills on George Soros and now we have another example of them not trusting Jews.

These are sick and dangerous people taking over the GOP.

I love it when liberals need to lie to make something out of nothing....

Quote:
Over the past month, in a spate of e-mails and political pitches, conservative opponents of incumbent Speaker Joe Straus have said they want him replaced not because of his Jewish religion, but because of his betrayal of Republican principles.
Quote:
Chris Elam, spokesman for the Republican Party of Texas, distanced the party from the entire debate
Quote:
Tammy Blair, co-founder of the Tyler Tea Party, said the comments have been blown out of proportion.
Citing one anonymous e-mail that said "Straus is going down in Jesus' name," she suggested Straus' critics were just getting clumsy and that many didn't even know he was Jewish. She noted that Tea Partiers are staunchly pro-Israel.
"The principles (of this country) are Judeo-Christian," said Blair, who also signed the letter last month. "Somebody shortened it and just said 'Christian values.'"

Left-wingers don't try to kick Jews out of political leadership.

Most elected Jewish politicians are Democrats.
