Thank you for highlighting every problem with America. They happen to exist because oil companies and their lobbies took over the governance. Now, we're way behind the rest of the world. Our railway system is a joke. Trucking industry will be fine for a while, but as Warren Buffet noted, its only a matter of time. Cheap oil is bound to be history.
No one likes a wise guy. Keep you stupid irrelevant comments to yourself.
The trucking industry is fast adapting to high fuel prices through fuel surcharges which are currently at .40 cents per loaded mile. Whether YOU know it or not, every time you go to buy something it is likely delivered by truck. So it is YOU that is paying for higher fuel prices, not the truckers smart guy.
You may want to do a little research into the alternative fuels that trucks are already using today and plan to use for the future. LNG and biodielsel are two. LNG holds the largest promise since all we have to do is divert gas from the pipelines into fueling stations at truck stops.
But YOUR corrupt politicians which YOU support keep subsidizing oil, farmers, ethanol, and other stupid tax susbsidides. It is the same people you vote for who are the root of the problem and you stand around critizing everyone else. I yi yi
It won't help anything. It will cost a lot and no one will ride it. They need to focus on the things that people actually use.....the roads!
THere are municipalities in CAlifornia using Hydrogen buses and government cars but since fueling is a problem, it is not too popular. LNG is the easy answer but the corrupt politicans and oil companies are in bed with each other and prevent these simple solutions so long as oil men elect politicians and politicans take their money. And yes they underwrite both major party candidates.
The US will never gain any ground until the corruption in the US government is eliminated and the people crack down on the crooked politicians and the endless game they play to keep each other in power.
Recharging the hydrogen fuel cell buses isn't difficult. It only takes six minutes to recharge in a regular old outlet. They can travel up to 250 miles before needing to be recharged

Not True, California NEEDS a high speed rail line going through the Cajon Pass to Las Vegas.
With connections to L.A., Anaheim (Disneyland) as a starting point to Las Vegas. This would greatly improve peoples lives in S. Calif. and increase revenue and save on infrastructure costs, pollution and vehicle travel.
Las Vegas should pick up some of the tab as it would be a lot quicker than the 7-8 Hr. drive from parts of Los Angeles and they would stand to benefit greatly.
BTW from Devore, Cali.f through the desert to Vegas there is alot of open land and they could build that part very quickly.

Now this would be great for all of us who leave for Vegas on a Friday night and return on Sunday afternoon. Traffic on the 15 is awful. There's hundreds of bottles with pee in them because people are sitting in traffic for so long in the middle of the desert.
MmmK, lets put the whole nation further into hock so a fraction of the population can travel from California to Las Vegas on hi speed rail instead of the already exsisting avenues of car, bus or airplane.

Agreed, it's bad at times for commuters during the week .
And with a stop in the High Desert (Victorville,Hesperia) and another in Fontana or connections to San Bernadino,Riverside and Orange County it would save literally Billions over the years, not to mention improve the economy and people's lives.
This isn't a Partisan issue it's a common sense one.
I agree. Infrastructure should be something both sides can agree on.
If you're upset that it costs too much, you better be complaining about how much we waste on defense every year. If you're not doing that, your comments here are moot.
