read the UN declaration, then please tell me why so many countries who are members of the UN deny to their citizens alot of what is stated as "rights" in the UN declaration?

The UN at times have attempted to make America lessen it's Bill of Rights in order to become more in harmony with the rest of the world. Why?

Universal Declaration of Human Rights

mods make this a yes or no poll please.

No, they ignore the most important right: to keep and bear arms in order to protect against tyranny. The UN represents governments (mostly dictators), not the people.

thanks for the replies so far.Let me cut to the chase.I am mainly directing this thread to the happy Obama voters. The Democratic party has a history of appeasement to the UN,willing to sacrifice American personal liberty to satisfy others in the world. This no doubt is part of the reason so many other countries like Democrats because they lean more socialist like they are.

So you as a Democrat,do you like the idea of lessoning national sovereignty and standards of America to be in more harmony of the world?I mean some of you have flat out said the Constitution is a tired old outdated document,so?What kind of change do you want? How far are you willing to go to make sure other countries approve of America?

I say NO, No, and Never agree with the UN.

Like artic says, they are totally anti-gun ( maybe we should send them out of the country!). They want you to "kissup" to their insane policies, some pushed into UN law by countries half the size (or less) of NYC. Where the original UN had 5 languages, under 90 countries and 5 countries which could veto -- now there are many more "languages" used ( for political correctness), tons more countires ( very small and demanding big concessions), and seeing the countries which can veto, well, let's face it, that is all bull.

The UN has outlived its original charter. It has, just like a good part of the world, gone insanely politically correct in its desire to give every person every thing they want. It needs to go to another country where it will be viewed as normal ( a truly socialist one)

[For the record, I have seen it from the inside with family who worked there]

Heck no! Too much corruption in the UN. We need to keep our sovereignty as a nation.
