Arizona’s counterclaim against the United States is a political stunt designed to distract from the reality that SB 1070’s attempt to mandate racial profiling is unconstitutional,” says a statement issued Friday by a coalition including the American Civil Liberties Union, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund and the National Immigration Law Center, among other
s.

I THOUGHT BREAKING INTO THE U.S WAS UNCONSTITUTIONAL

Quote:
“SB1070 is a misguided law that puts Arizona out of step with fundamental values of fairness and equality, and has no place in Arizona or America,” the groups say.

Fairness??
What about Legal immigrants who followed our rules?

“Our message for the federal government is simple,” Gov. Brewer said Thursday at a press conference announcing the countersuit. “Use federal resources to attack the cartels who are breaking federal law. Don’t attack Arizona which is helping to enforce federal law.”

Does it surprise you that the leftists consider the Constitution to be unconstitutional?

I live in Arizona and haven't a clue what you are talking about. The parts of SB1070 that were about employng illegals were left intact yet not one employer has been arrested. That sort of shows that the law was about rounding up latinos and holding them in contract jails while politicians got kickbacks from the Prison companies

I think we need to make the liberals unconstitutional and deport them to whatever country they want to destroy. Arizona should sue the feds who are costing their state billions every year by not upholding our laws and securing the border.

Default Arizona suit against U.S. a "political stunt," radical leftists say

As much a "political stunt", as the US's against Arizona.

No prison. As soon as they are caught, they are trucked back from where they came. end of story.

If they have a family, pick them up and ship them back also.

My grandparents immigrated here legally from Russia, and became legal citizens, by following the law. This is a slap to their face, and to the face of every single person who has followed our laws.

Pack up up, ship em out, make the crime of entering our country illegally punishable by firing squad for a second offense.. I bet THAT acts as a deterrent after it's been used a few times.....

LOL @ libnuts still still propagating the myth that SB 1070 "mandates racial profiling". It does nothing of the sort.

You do realize that for many of these people who are currently in this country illegally, they would never be able to migrate here legally? If you don't have family in the US, and you're not a particularly skilled worker, and you're from most Latin American countries, the US is closed. I'm sure your Russian grandparents did not face an environment where it was literally impossible to migrate to the US legally, as most illegal immigrants in the US do today.

Yep...pretty much. SB1070 is toothless and ineffective anyway, even in it's original form. Until this state decides to put a major corporation out of business, it's meaningless.
