No, it was based on the articles on the attacks on Cooper, the Fox crew and others. Those who started throwing the molotav cocktails, came in on horses with whips, etc. Were some of both sides involved in the violence? Yes, but based off the actual reports from those on the scene, those covering the protests, etc, the violence was mostly from the pro-Mubarak fraction.
I glad you posted that. It's an assumption at best. I assume these reporters aren't fluent in the local language - and with things happening so fast, they don't know for sure who is on one side or the other.
The middle east is filled with savages. To the folks who say "this could have happened any where"; you're ignorning the fact that some places have a lot higher sexual assault rate and the mideast has massive cultural problems wrt rape and sexual assault.

Actually, Richard Engle of NBC lived in Egypt for 4 years--he started his career there as a young freelance journalist and lived in one of the slums, where he learned to speak the language and a number of local dialects fluently. He wasn't picked up by a major network until later in his career. When I was watching his coverage, he was the one saying that the violence against the protesters was coming from security police dressed as civilians, and that when they captured people who'd been throwing molotov cocktails and trying to burn down the Egyptian museum, many were carrying police ID. The local translators for people like Anderson Cooper were evidently telling them the same thing.
All of this was reported widely in the press--that Mubarak was making a last ditch effort to convince people that they needed him to stop chaos, and then he created chaos with his security police dressed as civilians to prove his point. It backfired on him big time.
That's horrible. If there's anything good that can come of this maybe the plight the women face over there will be it. Arab women go through much worse than just this incident though. They're second class citizens akin to slaves and it's just ridiculous something can't be done about this type of crap. You want a real revolution in the Middle East? Give the women the right to be equal and have a say in the future of their countries.
Damned shame. Really a shame that CBS wasn't smart enough to give her the security they should have known she would need. Seriously, Anderson Cooper was assaulted just before this, You don't send a beautiful blonde woman into a crowd alone where people were assaulted just before this.
Really?? What happened to Ms. Logan could happen anywhere in the world where there is total chaos. Your ethnocentrism is legendary.
No , Actually your ignorance of Cultural differences is Amazing. Women Historically and presently are viewed quite differently in the Muslim World than they are viewed here.
Before you issue your not so veiled Racism accusations maybe you should research it further.
