I don't think that firing the teachers is going far enough. Close down the public schools, and let those who have been leeching off of the taxpayers for so long pay for their own childrens' educations.

I hope this guy runs for president.

A guy gives $140 million away to special interests, blames the $140 million deficit on the unions, and then acts like this. Klassy, that is. Same goes for all the people attacking the protesters.

Not to mention, taking away this particular right of workers saves very little...

Yikes, I have never run into such a bunch of whiners. All jobs have their issues. If the things teachers have to "put up with" are too much, find something else to do. Sheesh.

I did until I had to witness my parents cancel our annual family vacation due to the fact that the teachers went on a five-week strike. That selfish action sent the school-year to late June.

Those tactics showed my young mind that a good number of public school teachers could care less about their commitment to teach.

What slobs.

Don't forget to abolish the Department of Education.

I would not be surprised by a wholesale jump in test scores, once public funded De-Education is ended.

No parent will waste their hard earned money to send their child to a non-performing school. And no private school will tolerate disruptive children. And that means expulsion without refund will be a double incentive for stronger discipline, at home and at school.

No, but the local cop is paid via property taxes, just like the teacher and the firefighter.

Come on now. You can't lay all the blame on the teachers. For every crappy teacher, there are probably 20 equally crappy parents that essentially use the public school system as free day care for their illegitimate offspring.
