Sorry, I should have put a "worthless self-serving publicity grabber" warning before my link.

My bad.

That's an unknown since they can't even show up to school themselves.

I think you should post only after learning what the meaning of a public employee is.

Who is the boss? The people are, not the teachers.
Who do the teachers work for? The People (who voted in a governor to do exactly what he's doing).

They've certainly been paid enough and now the gravy train has crashed. These teachers are striking because they have to pay a small percentage of their own cadillac coverage... poor overpaid system abusers. Every teacher that is striking on the tax payers dime should be fired.

They are setting the worst example for their students through lying, chaos and greed.

You mean like the substitute MATH teacher who used her class to show 11 year olds Brokeback Mountain, to spread her pro-gay agenda? What about Randal Ralston? How about Daniel Markofski a Wisconsin teacher who served 18 months for exposing 13 and 14 year girls to porn in a motel room. What about the fact that teachers are striking and bussing their students in to protest, which is ILLEGAL.

There are good teachers in the public system. I'd like the think the good ones used common sense and didn't join the sick out. They are going to lose what little public sentiment they had left. I guarantee it.

His policies are horrible for America - no thanks.
States deciding pay IS a form of socialism. \

You cannot say an election was held and we should blindly uphold the policies of the winner unless you practice what you preach! Many happen to believe that Scott Walker's policies are horrible for WI.

I place teachers way up on the food chain. They are the foundation of the future of this country, if it is to have any.

I'd be condescending to any other union way before I'd be to the grievances of the teachers who work for peanuts and do the most important job in this country often in terrible school environments.
Peanuts? You call $100k in salary and benefits peanuts? Jeeze.

The "dangerous occupations" are not having adjustments made that I know of. Just the rest of the workers, which yes, includes these jerkoff teachers.

The protests are not about that, but we are stick of hearing that the teachers only care about kids and the greater good when we all know they are only out for themselves.

At least in FL, where I'm from, cops actually make about the same as teachers (starting pay high $20s). Not sure about the benefits of either down there. Who is putting themselves in harm's way? Who has the greater chance of dying on the job? I mean, to compare the two is a little sad.

Cops retire with high pensions b/c they ended up NOT dying in all those years they served and got paid crappily.
