Civil rights advocates have gotten the signatures to get it on the ballot.
No circumcision until your 18..it's a human rights issue and should not be forced on babies.
If caught it's $1000 and one year in jail.

The Jewish community is upset naturally. Circumcision is part of their religion.

Where is the fake outrage from the liberals that the city is interfering with other people's bodies?

Great, the same people who will fight 24/7 to make it legal to kill children in the womb will also fight the rights of parents once they're born because they don't want anything bad to happen to the child.

^Exactly what I was thinking. It's fine and dandy to suck the brain matter out of a baby in a partial birth abortion, but Rabbi Schulman can't give baby Joshua a snipping!

People in SF live on another planet completely, reality is about as rare as unicorns around the Golden Gate these days.

..It is ridiculously easy to simply go outside of city limits and have the procedure done at another hospital.

Mens advocate groups claim circumcision is unneccessary. I'd rather men decide about their own bodies. As for Jews I think a waiver should apply to religious groups if they really have to bother with legislation. Overall I think they should leave it alone and let parents decide. They've got bigger problems to deal with.

It's a proposal that made it on the ballot. It's still too early to tell if this will get passed as an ordinance.

And your right if a parent wants his or her child to have an circumcision I see no reason why the parent's wishes shouldn' t be granted.

It would be as ridiculously easy for some folks to simply mind their own dam business.

Guess the same can be said for any place that bans abortion?
